The Northeast Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF Northeast Pennsylvania) is looking for non-profit organizations to apply to be the 2019 beneficiary for the “Cropped” competition.

The “Cropped” competition unites the region’s best and brightest creative professional and student talent on four teams, all of whom will vie for the opportunity to rebrand or work on a major creative project for an area non-profit organization. The competition is a take-off on the Food Network’s hit show, “Chopped,” and the last team standing wins.

“We’re excited to take ‘Cropped’ into its fourth year of helping non-profits find a new voice through branding,” said Kathryn Bondi, AAF Northeast Pennsylvania president. “We love having the opportunity to give back to our community by bringing the area’s top creative minds together for an exciting night of real-time advertising action!”

AAF Northeast Pennsylvania is accepting applications from area non-profit organizations now through Friday, Oct. 4, via Applications will be judged on the organization’s mission, state of current branding and the organization’s vision for future branding. This year’s Cropped competition will be held on Monday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m. at the University of Scranton.

Previous recipients include Outreach Center for Community Resources (formerly EOTC), Luzerne County Head Start, and Candy’s Place. The winning team will create a polished version of their creative campaign elements that will be unveiled at the AAF Holiday Party in December and files will be provided to the non-profit organization for its own use.

“The ‘Cropped’ event itself increases exposure for any organization participating,” said Kristin Cianfichi, director of community outreach and resource development, Outreach Center for Community Resources. “Most importantly, the winning organization will benefit from experts in the field of advertising and marketing. Non-profits, which typically are on tight budgets, get access to creative services they may not otherwise be able to afford, thanks to this event.”
